Sweet and creamy adrenal cocktail popsicles are the perfect summertime treat to support your adrenal health! Made with a few whole food ingredients, these yummy adrenal creamsicles boast sweet orange, creamy coconut, and a hint of spicy ginger.

What is an Adrenal Cocktail?
An adrenal cocktail is a combination of a few ingredients with targeted nutrients that support the adrenals.
Fresh Orange Juice: Rich in vitamin C and potassium.
- Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that supports immune function and helps with the production of adrenal hormones.
- Potassium is an essential mineral necessary in the release of aldosterone, a hormone that helps to regulate blood pressure [1].
Coconut Water: Coconut water contains electrolytes: potassium, sodium, magnesium, and calcium. These minerals are essential in nerve function, muscle contraction, and maintaining proper fluid balance.
Salt: Salt is a natural source of sodium, which is believed to support the production and regulation of adrenal hormones (choose Real Salt, Pink Salt or Sea Salt.)
Ginger (opt): Ginger contains a potent nutrient called gingerol, which has anti-inflammatory properties. Reducing inflammation may help to support healthy functioning of the adrenal glands.
Coconut Cream (opt): Coconut cream is rich in healthy fats, particularly medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs). These fats are easily absorbed and utilized by the body. Adequate intake of healthy fats is necessary for hormone production, including adrenal hormones.
Magnesium (opt): Magnesium plays a significant role in supporting adrenal health and function. The adrenal glands are responsible for producing hormones, including cortisol, which is closely tied to the body’s stress response.
- Stress response: Magnesium may support a balanced stress response and help prevent excessive cortisol production.
- Adrenal hormone production: Magnesium is essential for optimal adrenal function and hormone balance.
- Energy: Magnesium is necessary in energy production.
- Relaxation and sleep: Magnesium has a calming effect on the nervous system and can help promote relaxation and restful sleep, which are essential for supporting adrenal health and managing stress.

What are the Adrenals?
The adrenal glands are small glands located above the kidneys; they play a crucial role in regulating various bodily functions from stress response to energy production, and hormonal balance.
Some symptoms of adrenal fatigue include:
- Fatigue/low energy: Feeling tired, even after adequate rest and sleep.
- Easily stressed: Individuals with adrenal insufficiency may find it difficult to cope with stressors, and even minor stress can feel overwhelming.
- Brain fog: Difficulty focusing, memory problems, and decreased mental clarity.
- Sleep: Insomnia or difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep.
- Craving salt or sweets: Adrenal issues are sometimes associated with cravings for high-sugar or high-sodium foods.
- Weight: Unexplained weight loss or weight gain.
- Low blood pressure: Dizziness when standing up quickly, lightheadedness, or feeling faint.
- Decreased immune function: Frequent infections, allergies, or a longer duration of illness.
- Mood swings: Emotional high’s and low’s, anxiety, or depression can be present.
- Decreased libido: A reduced interest in sex or diminished sexual function.
